Астрофотографы зафиксировали 7 декабря редкое явление – полнолуние и восход Марса над ним, сообщает Space.com.

Земля в этот момент находилась между Марсом и Солнцем. В такую позицию Земля и Марс становятся каждые 26 месяцев, так что оппозиция состоится не раньше января 2025 года.

Марс был особенно близок к Земле во время этого события – в ближайшей точке к Земле на своей орбите. Рекорд по сближению между Марсом и Землей был установлен в 2003 году и составил всего 56 миллионов километров. По данным NASA, Марс и Земля в следующий раз подойдут так близко друг к другу в 2287 году.
